College Income - How to Make Some Extra Cash By Jim Monkand J W Byrd
Unfortunately, one of the most puzzling things about the land of the free is that nothing is free - especially a college education. Even if your parents can afford to send you off to college, or your have won a scholarship, there is always a need for some extra college income.
With the job market being as bad as it is, extra college income can be very hard to find from traditional areas such as retail outlets and fast food chains, where they were once an easy place to find part time employment.
You should be busy studying most of the time anyway, and having to spend time commuting and working at inconvenient hours earning next to nothing is not going to help your studies or the amount of sleep you get.
Fortunately, flipping burgers is not the only option these days.
You may never become the inventor of something as profitable as Facebook but a good way to earn some college income is by starting a home basednetwork marketing business - or maybe that should be dorm-based.
There are thousands of great opportunities online, and just as many bad ones. If you're thinking about trying to make some money online for extra college income, the first thing you should know is you're going to need to put a lot of effort into it. You study hard to get good grades, and putting the same amount of effort into an internet-based business can get you great results, in the form of site visitors and sign ups to earn that much-needed extra college income.
There aren't too many kids these days that can't build a simple WordPress blog or website, or don't know about social media networking. The only expense involved is the cost of a domain name and the monthly hosting costs - not much of an initial investment.
Now what to sell? Do you want to sell products to your fellow students, or something totally outside of the college campus?
Could you set up a successful marketingbusiness by offering something to other students? Personally, I would avoid that route, it can lead to being avoided and ostracized, especially if you go about your selling efforts badly. All those friends you thought you had made may suddenly become unavailable, if all you talk about is the product you are selling and you look desperate to get a sale.
You could always build a successful network marketing business and then offer to sponsor other students into the opportunity - if they see you are doing well, then chances are they will be very interested and become your new BFFs - they'll approach you. Remember it is down to you as sponsor to help them along if they do join up, there's work involved in education and training - but you know that, you're in college!
Now the million-dollar question is, what to promote.
The best way to sell anything is to own it yourself, use it and like it. If you are a technology student, as an example, there is a great network marketing opportunity to sell telecommunications products and learn about the industry at the same time. You will be far more able to write interesting articles on the subject if you're enthusiastic about it.
If you are in the health field, look at health and wellness products to make you extra college income, but ensure that there is room for you to get in, sell products, make decent commissions and eventually recruit a downline. Also be prepared to pay the "buy in" cost, which in most good MLM companies is $300-$500. Beware though, many old-established network or MLM companies offer little scope for newcomers to make any significant amount of money.
Make a choice from the MLM companies in the area of your expertise or interest, and do your homework.
Who knows, you might not need to spend 6 months unemployed or move home after you graduate, you could be set for life, and that extra college income could quickly pay back all the debts you've incurred!
